Microfiber Floor Cleaning Cloths: Great for spot cleaning floors and are super absorbent. Can be used wet or dry. Picks up and traps dust, allergens and dirt using electrostatic action when it is used dry. For use with the Bona Cleaners to get rid of grease and other tough spills and stains. This cloth is made with original Starfiber microfiber.

The other option is to use Steam Tile Floor Cleaners. These machines blast the dirt out by using high water pressure. Although, it is called a steam cleaner, there is not steam involved. Its actually tiny water particles that hit the surface with continuous air steam, with only about 5-6% of water present during the steam cleaning.

There is no need to worry about damaging or cracking the tiles, although the water pressure is high. There are no cleaning solutions used when steam cleaning the tiles. The hot water and pressure are sufficient to reach out and disinfect any of the tile areas, as long as the water being used for cleaning is hot and clean.

Bissell 1867-7 Steam Mop Hard-Floor Cleaner

The Bissell Steam Mop uses water power to deep clean. No cleaners are used. Uses hot steam rather than lots of water. The steam is dispensed on demand instead of continuously, by just pressing a trigger while moving the mop over the floor.

The mop’s 360-degree swiveling head can access hard-to-reach spots. Other useful features are a quick-release cord wrap as well as a easy-to-carry handle. There is also a built-in water filter to provide protection from the minerals and impurities in hard water. There is an indicator to show when the filter needs to be replaced. Comes with durable, reusable microfiber pads that are safe on all sealed hard surfaces and they clean up nicely in the washing machine. Better than the disposable options.

How To Clean a Ceramic Tile Floor

Here’s how to clean a ceramic floor with your good old mop.

Cleaning Tile Floors

While ceramic tile floors look nice and are relatively easy to maintain, they still need care. Prevention and constant attention can help you to minimize frequent heavy cleaning of your ceramic tile floor.

Clean up any spills on the floor as soon as they happen, without letting them dry on the floor. If not, it just attracts more dirt before it gets finally cleaned up, when it will be that much more difficult.

Its best to regularly sweep or vacuum and mop the ceramic floor often. This prevents any dirt from getting ground in which makes removal more difficult.

A tip would be to place floor mats at strategic spots where they can catch dirt off people’s shoes as they walk in. Its easier cleaning the floor mats than sweeping and mopping the whole tile floor.

Remember, though, that you still need to do thorough cleaning of the ceramic tile floor at regular intervals.

There are various ceramic tile floor cleaners that can be used. Test them first before using on the entire floor.  Also check that  the tile floor cleaner is compatible with the grout that is used with your tile floor.
